REMINDER:  John Callahan's Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, May 22 @ 4:00 p.m.; @ the newly modernized Pines Tavern (formerly the Poop Deck).  Rotarians, family and friends are encourage to attend this Tribute to an outstanding  human being and Rotarian.  You are encouraged to wear your Rotary Paul Harris medallion.
 
Thursday:  Nooners @ Mountain Cafe
 * President-elect, elect (20-21) Dawn Hartmeister called the meeting to order.   Rotarian John McKinney led the Pledge of Allegiance.  After repeating a hearty 4-Way Test, Rotarians and guests shared appreciations and
    announcements.  
 * Andy Brakebill gave an update on the Interact Happenings.  The Bowling Tournament was a TREMENDOUS success generating participation of 80+ middle and high school students and NETTING $2,700 for the Interact Club.       
    Kudos to Andy, Julann and all the Rotarians that contributed to this successful endeavor
*  Other updates included the reminder for John Callahan's service (see above), July 4 BBQ sign-ups and RSVP for the Eagles of Excellence.  Eighty (80) RSVPs as of today.
*  Meeting adjourned @ 12:50 p.m.
 
Thursday:  Evening @ The Lodge
*  President Costlow called the meeting to order @ 6:32 p.m.  The Rotary Moment focused on the importance of Mother's Day and always remembering our mom's who are no longer with us.  Thank you moms. 
*  After the Pledge, songmeister Dave Johnson led us in "God Bless America" and "R-O-T-A-R-Y".   President called on individual Rotarians to quote sections of the 4-Way Test.......we kinda passed the exam
*  Following an excellent Seafood Crepe dinner, Monica (Bandows) Marini presented the club a $6,500 check for our participation in Oktoberfest.  Monica gave an overview of the 9-week event (Sept 7-Nov2)
    that included 40,000 ticket purchases.  2020 will be the 50-year Anniversary of the Oktoberfest-WOW-where [do] the time go?  Monica paid tribute to her dad, Hans, a former member and Past-President
    of the club.  Also, introduced last year is an Oktoberfest "junior" event held over Memorial Day weekend.  The "MayFest" will be held again this year.  Thank you Monica!

 * Our special program and entertainment for the evening included the vocal winners of the Big Bear Music Competition who were unable to attend on March 29 due to Spring
    Break.  Soloists were Jazmin Thompson (1st place); Ely Dawson (2nd place); Lauren Davis (3rd).  These students received a well-deserved rousing standing ovation.  All
    together the vocalist, instrumentalist and pianist were awarded $1,650.  Congratulations to the students and their teachers:  Diane (Sloan) Kubeja and Sharon Rizzo.
